COUNCIL officials in the region are looking at whether to change the structure of the secondary school week.
A ‘school timetable consultation’ has been launched, with a survey sent to parents, carers, learners and staff this week to ascertain their views on such a move.
It includes questions about if the day should start and finish earlier or later than at present.
And the poll seeks to find out the impact on families locally if changes were made.
A council spokesperson explained the consultation is part of their ongoing transformation programme.
They said: “This will allow us to make recommendations on the most effective timetable structure for use in secondary schools. There are many different structures used across Scotland and we want to make sure we have a structure which suits all schools in the region. Through aligning the timetable, we are better able to give the greatest subject choice for pupils across our 16 secondary schools, including using digital learning to deliver qualifications in a wider range of qualifications across schools and college.”
