ARE you a Moffat, Mowat, Moffitt, MontAlto, Moffet, Movat, Mowat, Moffeett, Moffatt, Muffett or MaiFad?
Then you’re invited to the 2023 gathering of Clan Moffat this summer.
It’s taking place in the town of Moffat from August 10-13 and participants will be flying in from around the word.
The programme includes a guided tour of Dumfries House, music, dining, whisky tasting, lunch, a clan dinner and AGM.
The clan chief will be in attendance for the event.
A group spokesperson said: “Clan Moffat UK seeks to bring together descendants of the dispersed clan to share history, stories, genealogy and good company at events we host.
“We have a database of Moffats that can assist in ancestry research and connect researchers with their ancient kinsmen, be they a Moffat, Mowat, Muffat or any of the derived names.
“The Association also aims to print a twice yearly magazine, ‘Moffatalia’, which includes genealogy articles, historical information and family stories.
“We would love to reach out to local Moffats too.”
