The midfielder has signed on the dotted line for the Doonhamers bringing a long association with Hamilton Accies to an end.
After breaking through at New Douglas Park, Mimnaugh amassed over 100 appearances, in both the premiership and championship, for the first team.
Last season the Accies were unable to stave off relegation in the play-offs and they dropped to League One. And now the 21-year-old has opted for a change of scenery.
He was on the verge of joining East Kilbride in the Lowland League, but the chance to remain full-time ended up being too strong.
Mimnaugh said: “The gaffer just contacted me and said he’d be really keen on bringing me in. I went and spoke to him and everything sounded really good.
“That was really it. Everything sounded so professional, what I was needing, and I had my head set then that I was coming here.
“I’d been at Hamilton for six years. I enjoyed it, but it felt like I needed a change.
“I’m at an age now where I need to kick on, go somewhere else, experience something else and I thought this was the right move for me.
“I’ve played in the premiership and the championship as well with Hamilton. It’s been a rollercoaster ride there.”
He added: “My preferred position is probably the number six holding role in midfield.
“I can get on the ball, move it, keep it, play forward passes and hopefully add goals.”
When asked about personal goals, and aims for the squad, there was no delay in his answer.
Mimnaugh said: “The aim for the squad is to win the league. No play-offs, just win the league.
“For myself it’s just to do the best I can for the team and hopefully we get up and win that league.”
