Magic show for Denmore Dumbledore
CHAMPION . . . left to right: Karen McNeil from sponsor Paragon, vendor Andrew Dennison and judge Johnston Rae

Trade topped at 2,800gns with the milking animals averaging £2012 per life.

Paragon Veterinary Group sponsored the show with Johnstone Rae owner of the Boghead pedigree Holstein herd near Dumfries judging the pre-sale classes. He selected Denmire Dumbledore Judy as his overall champion who was consigned by the Dennison family from near Ulverston. Judy was sired by Progenesis Dumbledore and bred from a super productive line of cows that excel in butterfat and protein. She had a world class udder and sold for the top price of the day at 2,700gns to the Caldwell family from Ayrshire.

Taking the Reserve Champion rosette was Stowbeck Meter Maiden who was consigned by Skirwith Hall Farms and sold for 2,100gns to Baltier Farming near Newton Stewart. This powerful framed heifer was bred from an impressive line of six Excellent dams several with massive lifetime yields.

Craig Brough from Dalston sold, Warnelview Impression Violet for 2,500gns to Mr Forshaw from near Preston. Violet had a super attractive udder and traced back to the Excellent 96 Boulet Charles daughter that was shown successfully by the Warnelview Holstein herd.

In Calf heifers topped at 1,650gns for Hay Barclay Fame who was consigned by Kevin Hay. She was potentially the tenth generation of Excellent or Very Good cows going back to the famous variant red Braedale Goldwyn daughter Fools Gold. She was due in September to A2P2 sexed and was bought by Mr Martin from the Orton Grange herd.

Heifer calves topped 1,700gns for Hay Mingus Autumn who was bought by Mr Mutton from Lancashire. Autumn was a February born Mingus daughter and is the ninth potential generation of Excellent or Very Goods from the Atlee cow family.
