Chance to own a special sculpture

COLOURFUL sheep sculptures which featured in a public art trail are to be raffled off for charity.

The Flock to the Show project was set up to celebrate the return of the world sheep shearing championships to the Royal Highland Show in June.

And it saw 38 fibreglass sculptures decorated by artists then travelling around Scotland earlier this year, including to venues here in Dumfries and Galloway.

Now 500 raffle tickets are being sold for each sheep, at £25 each.

All funds raised will support the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland Bicentennial Fund and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Some of the sheep have already been purchased outright so won’t be available in the raffle, but the majority still need to find their forever homes.

The raffle closes on October 2 and is open to residents of the UK only. Tickets can be purchased at www.royalhighlandshow.org/flock-to-the-show
