'Blow' for workmen after leaf blower theft

THIEVES made off with a £250 leaf blower from a cycle path in Dumfries on Friday.

The orange coloured Stihl leaf blower was swiped from the cycle path at Lovers Walk sometime between 12 pm and 12.35 pm.

The blower was being used by workmen on the path when it was discovered stolen.

Constable David Steele of Police Scotland in Dumfries said: “This may well be an opportunist type theft and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have used the cycle path between Lovers Walk and Edinburgh Road on Friday to get in touch with us on 101 if they saw anything suspicious.”
