Campsite of the year is in Sandhead

A WIGTOWNSHIRE holiday park has been named Scotland’s campsite of the year.

Sands of Luce Holiday Park at Sandhead has taken top honours in the highly contested ‘AA Campsite of the year awards’.

The AA assessor was full of praise for the site, its facilities, staff and the local area, describing it as “well managed” with a “truly upmarket” cafe, bar and pizzeria in The Lighthouse.

Amy Cooper, owner of Sands of Luce, is thrilled and said: “It is a tremendous privilege to have received this award. We really do love what we do at Sands of Luce!

“Our job is to ensure all our guests and holiday makers enjoy themselves and want to come back again and again. We are passionate about doing this and always feel very thankful that we have such a stunning setting, a talented and dedicated team and local support behind us. To receive recognition makes our job even sweeter.”

She thanked the whole team and their customers and added: “We are excited for what lays ahead, we are committed to improving our park and doing our part in giving Wigtownshire the recognition it deserves.”
