A NEW gala running event will take place in Lockerbie this year.
It will be ready, steady, go for The Lockerbie Gala 5K on Wednesday May 29, with walkers leaving from the ice rink at 6.30 pm and runners at 7 pm.
The £2pp entry free can be paid on the night.
There will be prizes for first male and first female and some spot prizes too, as well as goody bags and race mementoes for all finishers.
The organisers said: “The route is on quiet country roads and is open to runners and joggers of all abilities. We also encourage walkers to join us.
“You must be over 16 years of age on the day of the race to enter.
“Please join us for a friendly, fun event and a be part of a fantastic opportunity to support Lockerbie Gala.”
They also noted that it will be run under UK Athletics rules and, as such, the use of music devices is not permitted.
