A ten-year-old boy from Brydekirk has been selected to represent Scotland at the upcoming Junior Snooker Under 16 Home Nations Championships in Leeds this August.

Donovan Sheridan will play against teams from England Wales and Northern Ireland. The tournament is being held at the Northern Snooker Centre.

The youngster, who attends Hecklegirth Primary, got a small snooker table for Christmas when he was seven-years-old. He took to it quickly and when he turned eight his dad, Daniel, started taking him to play on a full size table in Carlisle. For the last three years he has been going to the Blue Bell Inn every weekend to practice on their full-size table. Donovan has a top break of 55
