Free indoor bowls taster

AHEAD of the winter season, Cumbria Indoor Bowls Club in Carlisle is having an open week before opening their doors again on Monday September 2.

The club is hosting an open week from Tuesday August 27 to Friday August 30, with free sessions available between 10 am and 2.30 pm for prospective new members.

The club is located on Viaduct Estate Road and has been one of the most successful in the country in its 48 years since opening.

They have a membership of over 500, across the north of England and South Scotland.

Bowls is a sport for all and as such can be a competitive sport and a very sociable one.

Open to all ages, the club boasts Commonwealth Games medallists and national champions, with individual and team competitions available.

Whether you aspire to be the next world champion or simply want to get a little gentle exercise, keep your mind active and meet up with other like minded people, then you can come and give it a go.

The club are able to supply bowls to try the game and flat soles shoes.

Bar and restaurant facilities are available as well as a members car Park.

More information can be found on Facebook at Cumbria Indoor Bowls Club, or just pop in for the free sessions during open week.
