Model railway exhibition comes to Cumbria

With 17 layouts expected it cannot get any larger.

There will also be traders, selling everything a modeller may require including new ready to run, hard to find parts, tools, paints, second hand items and books.

Also in attendance will be local groups including the Cumbrian Railways Association, Workington Transport Heritage Trust, The Eden Valley Railway, the Sian Group and The Derby Lightweight Preservation Group.

For the younger element Thomas the Tank will be back and looking for operators to help him.

For the computer minded there will be a simulation area where you can ‘drive a train’ on one of the local lines.

In the Scalefour Cumberland room there will be individuals to talk about how to start in modelling; while Carlisle and District O Gauge Group will be showing how sound modules work in their locomotives; and West Cumbria Guild of Model Engineers will also have a large display of models.

The exhibition takes place at the Energus building, Blackwood Road, Lillyhall Estate, Workington. There will be refreshments and free car parking.

It will be open from 10 am until 5 pm on Saturday and from 10 am until 4 pm on Sunday.
