Lifesaving defib training session

OVER 30 people attended Lockerbie Fire Station for life saving CPR and defib training.

Even the strongest of winds, torrential rain and freezing snow from Storm Bert couldn’t deter the townspeople and neighbouring areas of Lockerbie from attending Saturday’s session in how to use a defibrillator.

Thirty-five people turned up at Lockerbie Fire Station where firefighter Paul Rae, from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, briefed two groups of trainees with an hour each session of life saving training.

Roger Claymore, from Lockerbie Community Council, has thanked the fire crew for giving up their valued time and the townspeople who came along for the training.

He said: “With having a number of defibrillators throughout the area, 35 people are now aware how to carry out CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

“Also, where their nearest defibrillator can be located, how to retrieve the defibrillator from the cabinet as they are all different.”

Any member of the Lockerbie community who missed this training session or know any person and would like to attend a similar type course, email – [email protected] with your appropriate details.
