ANNAN residents are being asked to give blood this weekend after a late venue and date change.
Refurbishment work at the Market Hall on Downies Wynd means the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) have had to alter their plans for a donation day on Thursday.
Instead, they will be at Newington Leisure Centre on Sunday, with sessions from 11 am to 12.30 pm, then 2-4 pm.
First time donors are welcome, along with those who want to find out more about what it entails.
Scotland needs 15,000 people to give blood this Christmas and just one donation can save or improve the lives of up to three people.
An SNBTS spokesperson said: “We’re always looking for these vital donations so please come down to Newington Leisure Centre on Sunday.
“Having blood available at all times is essential and the SNBTS work to ensure that patients in Scotland, wherever they are treated, have the very best transfusion care.
“It is our responsibility to make sure blood is available when patients need it, and residents in Annan can play their part in helping us achieve our goals.
“Whether you are thinking about donating for the first time, a regular donor or haven’t donated in a while, a warm welcome from our staff awaits you.”
