ROYAL VISIT . . . Princess Anne will officially open Annandale Distillery in September
It was announced this week that Princess Anne, below, will visit the reborn distillery and state-of-the-art visitor centre at Northfield, Annan on Thursday September 10.
And Annandale Distillery founder and owner Professor David Thomson is looking forward to welcoming The Princess Royal, who is a regular visitor to the region.
He said: “I am delighted that HRH The Princess Royal is to visit and officially open Annandale Distillery and Visitor Centre.
“This will be a very special and memorable occasion honouring the work and achievements of all at Annandale Distillery and those involved in the project along the way.”
The historic distillery, which re-opened last year and currently employs 16 people, spans three whisky-making eras and a period when it was used in farming.
Following her visit to the distillery, the Princess, who is patron of the Scottish Rugby Union, will also attend the Rugby World Cup Scotland ‘Send Off’ Dinner at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
