ADAC’S first Elf and Santa Dash was a fantastic success, with over 130 participants raising £650 for Annan Day Centre to provide hot meals this Christmas.
Children and adults of all ages got dressed up in festive attire on Sunday morning. And the ADAC team were blown away with everyone’s generosity as they made their way along a big loop around Newbie.
The big race of the day was the Santa Dash 5k. The fastest Santa on the day, Neil Richardson, crossed the finish line ahead of the pack in an impressive 19:06. He was followed closely by James Taylor in 19:09 and Stu Bell in 20:08. Among the juniors, the first male home was Kyran Wotherspoon in 21.02.
For the female Santas, the first to finish was Shannon Morrin. Among junior females, the top spot went to Mollie Phillips.
The best-dressed prize proved tough for the judges, but the overall winner was Ed O’Connor, who just edged out ADAC’s Christmas Tree, Norman Johnstone.
Thanks are expressed to everyone who made the day possible, particularly to Cochran’s, whose brilliant venue was essential to the event’s success.
