SCHOOL closures will result in better learning environments for the majority of pupils.
That was the message from education officials on Tuesday.
They insisted that a redesign of the region’s schools estate is about “trying to create sustainable communities” in the face of falling rolls.
A list of schools to be reviewed is being drawn up for councillors.
And schools manager Larann Foss said: “What we’re looking to do is be more efficient so that we can provide more in all the other places.
“It’s about using the resources that we’ve got as effectively as we can, and always striving for improvement to ensure that our young people get the best opportunities and experiences.”
