Annan supporters, former and current players and football fans across the nation have dug deep to raise cash for Goss – who has been sidelined with a knee injury since early October .
A recent scan revealed that Goss needs a procedure to clear up the injury affecting his meniscus.
The money has been raised in just seven days via an online JustGiving appeal – with an anonymous £675 pledge pushing the fundraiser to its target.
It will be used to pay for private surgery to repair a knee injury which has sidelined the prolific 26-year-old striker since early October.
Other large donations included a very generous £500 from Annan Athletic Supporters’ Club.
With the money secured, it is hoped that the much-missed hitman will be back in action within the next month or two.
The Dumfries forward has expressed his gratitude to all who have donated.
He said: “It’s really good to see that people want to help me out to get the operation.
“To everyone who’s donated, I just want to say thank you very much. I appreciate it a lot. All I want to do is be back on the pitch, giving the fans something to cheer about.
“Hopefully the operation goes well and before too long I can be back scoring goals for the club.”
“It’s been a brutal time for myself as this is the first proper injury I’ve had, which has had me sidelined for a while.
“Watching some of the games, I know that if I was playing I’d be able to help change them.
“With the squad we have, when everyone’s fit we could have a right go at this league. You saw that at the start of the season.”
The fundraiser was organised by Black and Golds director Neil Irving who says the club have been “blown away” by the response and by “our fans’ generosity”.
Neil added: “We all know that Tommy is a fans’ favourite. To raise so much money in such a short amount of time shows just what a big part of our squad he is and how keen our supporters are to see him fit again and scoring goals as quickly as possible.
“Our thanks go to all who’ve donated. The way in which everyone has got behind Tommy and the club is very much appreciated.”
This is much-needed good news for Annan boss Wullie Gibson after his troops drew 1-1 with Cove Rangers last weekend.
Annan, who currently sit eighth in the table, continue their league campaign away to bottom side Dumbarton on Saturday.
