It comes after ‘The Fencer’ won five matches in the final day of the first stage of PDC Q School on Wednesday.
Gibson’s hopes looked dead and buried after picking up no points in the first two days of action. But he sprung into life on the final day to make sure he progressed to the next round.
But to get a PDC tour card, Gibson will probably have to replicate his form from Wednesday and more. The Thornhill player could face the likes of Fallon Sherrock, Simon Whitlock, Mervyn King and Beau Greaves in the coming days.
The final stage of Q School will feature 128 players with daily winners automatically securing a tour card. The remaining 21 tour cards will be allocated to players from the UK and European Q School final stage order of merit.
