Trio sign contract extensions

WITH the second half of the season about to get underway, Gretna FC 2008 manager Vinnie Parker and his staff have been working hard behind the scenes to extend the contracts of players.

So far, three of this season’s team have signed up for the 2025-26 campaign.

They are goalkeeper Jim Atkinson, midfielder Jordan Wooding-Holt and defender Hayden Tait.

Parker said: “Jim has been in outstanding form on the park as I expected he would be, in my opinion he is easily a league one standard goalkeeper.

“As a captain he has been immense, constantly driving and demanding standards from everyone around him. We are delighted he shares our vision for the club going forward and has committed for another season here at Gretna.

“Holty has been a tremendous player and personality at the club this season, and we are thrilled to secure him for another year.  Jordan is a true leader, organiser, and winner who wears his heart on his sleeve – attributes that are invaluable in our changing room.

“Over the last eight months, (Hayden) has shown significant growth and maturity. He works extremely hard, often putting in extra sessions on his own, and this dedication has resulted in high levels of performance and consistency.

“At just 19 years old, everyone at the club believes he has a very bright future ahead of him.”
