14 tents hit in Wickerman theft spate

THIEVES snuck into 14 tents in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Wickerman festival and stole £1200 in cash and other valuables.

Police Scotland are investigating the spate of thefts which took place in the Green Camping Area at the Dundrennan festival.
In total fourteen tents were entered whilst the occupants slept and cash with a total of over £1200, four mobile phones, a camera, a Kindle Fire, a jacket and credit and debit cards have all been stolen.
Constable Laurie Clark of Police Scotland said: “Clearly thieves have been at work during the early hours of Sunday morning and the family areas of a number of tents have been entered and cash and items stolen.
“We want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Green camping area during this time.”
The Green Campsite or Family Campsite is designated for those who do not want to be up all weekend and be disturbed by their neighbours.
