School invites everyone to enjoy new playground

KIRKGUNZEON Primary School’s brand-new playground is now open for community use.

Designed to encourage creativity, physical activity, and teamwork, it features a wooden climbing frame with two climbing towers, a slide, and a swing as well as raised garden beds.

It is hoped that the new and improved play area will foster strong community connections in addition to providing a safe, fun space for families in the area to enjoy.

The addition of the raised beds introduces exciting opportunities for pupils to engage with nature and learn about sustainability. These gardens will serve as a dynamic outdoor classroom where students can plant, nurture, and harvest their own fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Headteacher Alekandra Stores said: “Our new playground and garden beds reflect our school’s vision of creating an engaging, nurturing environment for all of our children.

“The generosity of our sponsors has enabled us to provide these amazing resources, and we are deeply grateful. The children are already excited about using them!

“We’re thrilled to share our fantastic new playground with the wider community.

“We believe that schools are at the heart of communities, and opening up our facilities is one way to strengthen the bonds that make Kirkgunzeon such a special place.”
