Officers say the 44-year-old was stopped in the Kingholm Quay and Castledykes area and had property which is believed to have been stolen from one of more houses in the area.
Residents are now encouraged to check their garages, garden sheds and vehicles and to report any break-ins to police. They are working to identify the property they have recovered.
