Veterans urged to share stories

VETERANS from Dumfries and Galloway are being called upon to share their stories as part of Scotland’s VE Day 80th anniversary commemorations this year.

The Royal British Legion Scotland and Poppyscotland are preparing for a special concert in May and want to honour the lives and experiences of veterans.

As such, they are looking for remarkable stories to feature in the May 6 concert, at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, to celebrate courage, sacrifices, and impact.

And they will also be looking at ways to preserve and honour all stories received beyond this occasion.

If you’re a World War II veteran, a relative or carer of a veteran and want to share your story for consideration, call 0131 550 1583 or email us at [email protected]

Submissions are open until February 14.
