TORTHORWALD residents recently christened the newly refurbished village hall kitchen with an open kitchen morning.
Following months of fundraising events, the community were able to celebrate the launch of their newly refurbished space.
To recognise and thank everyone for the huge community support, the hall committee organised an “open kitchen” morning and were overwhelmed by the support from everyone who came to have a sneak peek at the new kitchen and enjoy soup and scones.
A spokesperson said: “The latest project to upgrade the kitchen follows success in recent years to upgrade toilet facilities, install a new heating system, as well as the removal of asbestos and redecoration of the hall last year with a total cost of projects reaching over £58,000 to date!
“None of this could have been possible without the support of our fantastic community.
“Torthorwald Hall Committee are particularly grateful to the Annandale and Nithsdale Community Benefit Company for their financial help and to everyone who has supported our fundraising events, made very generous donations and given their time to lend a hand where and when it was needed to make these projects such a success. A big thank you to all concerned!”
