Ambleside Centurions 21 Annan 19
THE Annan second team set off across the border on Saturday to play a friendly fixture against Ambleside Centurions.
Word about the big game was out and players from many local sides turned out in the hope of participating. Negotiations were had and both squads were strengthened.
Ambleside retained possession for most of the first 15 minutes, eventually breaking through the Annan defence to score and convert.
However, Annan scored the next two tries through Bradley James and Aaron Kirkup. Both were converted by fly-half Fraser McMillan.
The second half continued in the same competitive manner with Ambleside scoring and converting twice more.
Scrum half Keith Hogg scored for Annan to make the full time score Ambleside Centurions 21-19 Annan.
A warm welcome to Kelum Smith who was playing in his first senior fixture and played well.
Many thanks to Ambleside for the hospitality and many thanks to all the Annan players and supporters who made the journey
Annan will host a return fixture on Saturday March 29.
