LANGHOLM Academy student Lucas McLatchie has been getting last minute tips on cooking ahead of a big competition this weekend.
He will represent his school in the Scottish final of the Rotary Young Chef Competition at Forth Valley College in Stirling on Saturday. Ahead of that, Lucas has worked with Tom Blak, a chef in the Douglas Hotel in Langholm.
Tom has been giving Lucas expert advice on how to improve his dishes.
A school spokesperson said: “The staff at school would like to thank Tom for his excellent support of Lucas.
“Thanks also to Kenneth Pool, pictured, from the local Rotary club who came in to school to present Lucas with his certificate for the regional final, where Lucas came second. Thanks also to the Langholm Rotary Club for their financial support of Lucas, it is greatly appreciated.
“We wish Lucas the very best of luck in the Scottish final.”
