Meet the team designing A75 bypasses

TWO ‘meet the team’ events are being held next week in Crocketford for residents to meet the designers of the new A75 bypass.

Representatives from Transport Scotland’s project team and their technical advisers will be at Crocketford Village Hall to answer questions on the initial design and assessment work being carried out on bypasses for the villages of Springholm and Crocketford.

During the Meet the team events, the team will be asking for information from landowners to assist in forthcoming survey work on site and will provide an opportunity for residents to register their contact details to receive future updates.

Both events will be held at the village hall on Tuesday March 11 and Wednesday March 12 from 12 pm to 7 pm each day.

This is the first of a number of public engagement events that are proposed between now and when the preferred route option for the project is identified. Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop commented: “The initial design work looking at options to bypass the villages of Springholm and Crocketford on the A75 is now well underway.

‪“These “Meet the team” events on 11 and 12 March are an opportunity for locals and road users to hear first-hand from the people carrying out the initial design and assessment work.

“The work being undertaken is expected to take approximately two years to complete and will culminate with the identification of a preferred route option for bypassing Springholm and Crocketford.”
