ENTRIES open on Monday for this year’s South of Scotland’s regional Thistle Awards.
Visitor and hospitality businesses will be able to submit their nominations, while members of the public are also being encouraged to show their support for an outstanding local hotel, restaurant, visitor attraction or event.
The closing date is April 28 and the regional shortlist will be announced in early July, with an awards evening in October and the chance to represent the region at national level.
Among last year’s winners were ghost and local history tour company Mostly Ghostly; and Auldgirth organic farm The Outdoor Hotel, which offers self-catering bell tents and bothy accommodation.
David Hope-Jones OBE, above, chief executive of the South of Scotland Destination Alliance, said: “The South of Scotland Thistle Awards are returning for a third year and now is your chance to shine a spotlight on a hospitality or tourism business in your local community that deserves to be celebrated – get your nomination and encourage them to apply to be recognised for all the fantastic work they do!”
