OVER 49,700 people used Annan Swimming Pool in a six month period last year.
Between April and December there were 49,774 attendances.
However, numbers were down at Newington Leisure Centre to 65,578 during the same period. This is due to a closure and refurbishment of the fitness suite.
Fewer youngsters were also reported to be attending gymnastics sessions there, as well as at the Eskdale Leisure Centre in Langholm.
This is because of alternative operators launching locally.
