PARALYMPIAN Nathan Macqueen has received his MBE for services to archery from HRH The Princess Royal.
He was honoured after winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
Nathan, who was born in Dumfries, said after the ceremony: “It felt really, really special. I didn’t ever think I would get an MBE, so to come here and bring my granny is just amazing.
“It is just such an honour.”
His family were more emotional than when he won Paralympic gold, he added, noting that his 91-year-old gran, and staunch royalist, Rita Macqueen was “proud as punch” to be at the ceremony
