Chance to make a film

ASPIRING film makers are being offered the chance to make their own short film with the South West Media Factory (SWMF).

Young people aged between 19 and 26 from across the region who are keen to learn about film making are invited to take part in a free course lead by SWMF.

The first meeting has been arranged at the Stove on Saturday 26 April from 2-5 pm, to kick-start ideas and start planning, the course is open to both students and those in full-time or part-time work with SWMF coordinating production work around their availability with plans to shoot the short film in August, with plans for developing more short film projects for the rest of the year.

Belle Doyle, co-director of SWMF, said: “We are keen that no-one misses out on this opportunity. We are looking for creative people, of course, but we also need people with good organisational skills. No film making experience is necessary, just lots of enthusiasm and willingness to learn.”
