Grants up for grabs (soon)

A KEY source of funding for community and third sector organisations in Dumfries and Galloway is set to reopen next month, with over £230,000 in capital grants up for grabs.

The Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programme will begin accepting applications from Monday May 5.

Managed by Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Government-backed scheme supports local groups tackling pressing issues such as rural inequality, poverty, and climate action.

Approximately £233,563 is available through the Main Capital Grants Programme, with an additional £53,500 in associated revenue funding to help organisations deliver on their capital projects.

A separate Small Revenue Grants Programme offers awards of up to £5000, with at least £30,000 available in total.

The funding aims to support local facilities and projects that contribute towards achieving net zero goals, bolster rural infrastructure in isolated areas, combat the cost-of-living crisis, and promote local planning through research and feasibility studies.

Applications will be judged by a Local Action Group, a panel comprising public, private, and third sector representatives. Groups may submit multiple applications, although only one per project is permitted, and full funding for project costs can be requested.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday June 2, with successful projects to be delivered between August 2025 and March 2026.
