Happy homeowners

HOUSEHOLDERS in Dumfries and Galloway rate highly on a nationwide happiness index.

Although not in the top ten, residents locally say the region is a good place to live based on house prices to income ratio, with the average price of a two-bedroomed home coming in at £122,000.
The map produced by Hampton International and The Telegraph highlights areas with the cheapest homes and the happiest residents.
And the happiest areas tend to be rural and far from London, with Allerdale in Cumbria claiming the top spot.
