Bad weather cancels Moffat Show

BAD weather has seen a popular agricultural show cancelled this weekend.

The annual Moffat Show, which was due to take place this Saturday, has been cancelled.

Writing on the show’s Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “Sad news but this summer’s weather has beaten us this time.”

The raffle will still take place on Saturday at the town hall at 4 pm.

The show was last cancelled in 2012.

Meanwhile, the Holm Show at Newcastleton will still go ahead at the village auction mart.

And organisers of Langholm Show, the last one of the season due to be held at the end of September, are also watching the weather and keeping an eye on conditions at their ground.
