A TELEVISION series spotlighting Gretna Green weddings is currently filming in the love capital.

Production company Firecracker Films are following brides and grooms who have chosen to marry or renew their vows at the home of runaway weddings this summer.
‘Wedding Town’, which will be shown on Channel 4, is being billed as a warm and entertaining look at those who choose to marry in the village and the people working behind the scenes to make each ceremony special.

From wedding planners to professional witnesses, florists, cake makers and pipers, the 15 episode series will follow the drama and romance of each of the unions.
And an appeal has also gone out to other couples to feature in the 30 minute programme.
A spokesman said: “We want to show the diverse and unique range of weddings that take place in Gretna Green, how it attracts people from all walks of life and how each couple makes their wedding special in their own way.
“We are currently looking for more couples who would like to have their wedding uniquely filmed.”
Anyone who wishes to find out more about how they can get involved should e-mail the team on [email protected] or text 07519 743928.
