Dumfries coach in Team GB role

A SWIMMING coach from Dumfries helped Team GB swimmers to medal victory at the Tbilisi 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival.

Danielle Brayson, who is head coach of Dumfries ASC, was thrilled to be selected to coach at the event in Georgia.
Team GB tested themselves against Europe’s finest youth athletes with 2400 competitors from 50 nations across six days of action.
Britain’s swimmers made up the largest squad of athletes from a single sport for Team GB and it was the first time a Dumfries ASC coach has been invited to take part at a top level.
Danielle was part of the coaching team under Bath’s Graeme Antwhistle, who helped the young swimmers win a total of three silvers and five bronzes – pictured.
She said: “It was an amazing opportunity to get the chance to coach Team GB, and I have brought back key learnings from the experience to share with my swimmers in Dumfries ASC.”
