Reports of a number of people, both male and female being involved and a 26-year-old man assaulted as the group moved along towards Dowding House were made to the officers.
Constable Nicola Brunton said: “We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this disturbance and in particular the assault on the man which appeared to be by a number of people, both male and female.
“As a result the man received a cut to his head and bruising. Anyone who wants to contact us with information can do so through the 101 number.”
