Wear a white ribbon

Queen of the South Football Club and the Dumfries and Galloway Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women Partnership (DAVAWP) have joined forces for the 16 Days of Action Against Gender Violence International Campaign.
It starts on November 25 and will culminate in a White Ribbon Game when Queens will play Rangers at Palmerston in February 2016.
Players, team staff and supporters will be encouraged to wear white ribbons during the campaign, which is part of wider international action to encourage men and boys to examine issues relating to gender violence, to speak about and against them, and to take action.
Jim Thomson, of Queen of the South Football Club, said: “We know about the devastating consequences of domestic abuse and gender based violence; these issues should have no place in Scottish society so I would like to take this opportunity to invite all men in Dumfries and Galloway to support the local White Ribbon Campaign.
“We all can make a difference, working together we can make a safer and fairer society for our children.”
DAVAWP vice chair Daniel McKeever said: “We are very grateful to Queen of the South FC for their continuous support over the last few years.
“We are very excited about this collaboration with Queens. This is another great opportunity to promote dialogue about issues relating to gender violence and to engage with local men and young men who in turn will have a platform to speak against gender based violence and will have an opportunity to take action and contribute to a fairer Dumfries and Galloway.”
