Silver spot for Wylie

The 24-year-old, of Thornhill, finished second in the Silver Cup this season and just missed out on winning the top prize after a post-race time penalty dropped the outgoing GT4 champion from eighth to tenth in the final race two months ago.
The McLaren GT ‘Young Driver’, who was contesting the GT3 category for the first time, and team-mate Andrew Watson collected six top-ten finishes in their Von Ryan Racing McLaren 650S GT3 sportscar in the nine-race series.
Wylie said: “I really enjoyed attending the SRO’s Night of Champions awards evening in London.
“It’s always a great time of year to let the hair down and reflect on the season just gone, and it’s also a great night for networking with other drivers.”
He added: “The awards evening gives you the fire and motivation going into the following season.
“Watching all of the champions being ‘crowned’ and knowing the feeling from last year that I had when I won the GT4 title, there is no substitute for winning and nothing can beat that feeling.”
And looking ahead to the new season, he said: “It’s too early to say what my plans are for 2016. My fitness training and preparation has already begun so I am pushing hard.
“2015 was a tough season but you can learn from that while it’s important for me to get back to my winning ways.”
