It disbanded in October after failing to receive enough member nominations for elections.
The group needed six members to continue, but only five locals signed up to represent the town so the group wrapped up on October 23.
However a second call for nominations went out in November with the five nominations for the first call remaining valid.
A council spokesperson revealed this week that extra nominations had been received taking the count of nominations to 10.
Lockerbie Community Council can host as many as 12 members and if more than 12 people apply before the cut off deadline of 5 pm today then an election will be held to trim the total number of members down to 12.
The election would take place on January 7 2016.
