Tourism hotspot launches loyalty card scheme

A GRETNA Green tourist attraction is spreading festive cheer to local visitors this Christmas.

RECOGNITION REWARD . . . Famous Blacksmiths Shop guide Frank Clarkson and manager Carolyn Scott promote the new loyalty card scheme

For the Famous Blacksmiths Shop has just launched a loyalty card scheme which gives local people free entry to the Gretna Green Story museum.
And Carolyn Scott, who is in charge of the museum, hopes that many residents in neighbouring towns and villages will take up the offer.
She said: “Throughout the year many local people visit us while they have friends or relatives visiting. We are delighted that a visit to our attraction is on the list of essential things to see and do and we want to say thank you by offering those that bring guests free entry.”
The idea for the loyalty card came from Gretna Green Ltd’s Employee Representative
Group (ERG).
Set up five years ago, the ERG provides employees with a voice to discuss company policy matters and generate new ideas.
Company director Susan Clark added: “The ERG has been the source of many good ideas and this is just the latest. The opinion of our staff is very important to the business and we look forward to more exciting developments that spring from ideas
discussed at these meetings.”
Anyone living in the DG16, DG12 and DG11 postcode areas can apply by completing a form at the museum and a card will then be prepared and posted out.
