A poem for the Queen of the South

THE People's Poet Peter Angelini has penned this special verse for the 2025 Queen of the South. He presented her with a copy earlier this week.

ON this special day

Jesus, Mum and Dad and friends

Bring much love to you

There will be joy, fiesta and so much colour around, too

But the finest colour, has already blossomed true

It is a gentle flower that is you

Proud of that love that you have received

Always keep safe inside you heart

But always remember to give some of that back

To the one that loved never had

It is not fair

They need some like you do to share

And never forget that without love and care

Neither you nor any other flower would be here today to blossom fair

Now with all that if you stay in tune

Surely, happy in life, you will continue to bloom
