A75 crash victim named

THE man who died following a road collision on the A75 early last Saturday morning has been named.

He was Alan Neill, 70, from Northern Ireland.

Mr Neill was driving a Ford Ranger pick up, towing a trailer with dogs in it, when his vehicle was one of three involved in a crash near Castlecary Holiday Park, Creetown at about 2.45 am. The collision also featured a silver Suzuki Swift, driven by a 43-year-old woman, who was airlifted to hospital in Glasgow with serious back injuries. Her passenger, a 14-year-old girl, was unhurt. The driver of a Scania lorry was also uninjured.

Police are investigating and Sergeant Bob McNay said: “Enquiries into the cause of the collision are continuing and we are continuing our appeal for witnesses to the actual crash, or any of the vehicles prior to the crash.

“Anyone with dash-cam footage which might assist us in this investigation is asked to call us on the 101 number, quoting the reference number PDG 0148820718.”
