POLICE are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A75 near Eastriggs this morning
Officers were called to the scene at 9.30 am after a collision between a green DAF articulated lorry and a black Ford KA.
The driver of the car, a 36-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not yet been named by police.
Enquiries into the incident are continuing, with Sergeant Colin Ramage stating: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time. Officers will be supporting them through the investigation.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”

The A75 is remains closed at this time, and a diversion is in place and will remain until the necessary scene investigations are complete. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
