A75 is on the most haunted road list

A ROAD in the region has been revealed as one of Scotland’s most haunted.

The A75, which links Stranraer with Gretna, was number two on the list compiled by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.

They said: “Spooky season is approaching, and it is rumoured that many haunted locations around Scotland exist. Locals have reported having spotted ghouls and paranormal activity across the country, from haunted roads, houses, and eerie moorlands.

“Many ghost sightings have been reported on the A75, a 95-mile road stretching from Gretna Green to Stranraer. Two specific sections on the road are said to be the most haunted spots: between Annan and Gretna and the well-known Kinmount Straight.

“In the 1820s, this road was popular with grave robbers, and this dark history has led to paranormal activity in recent years. Travellers have reported encounters with phantom horse-drawn carriages, old women, and strange animals.”
