A75 weekend closures

ESSENTIAL resurfacing is set to take place on the A75 westbound, west of Gretna, from October 15 to October 22.

The work will be performed by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland, and will benefit around 10,000 vehicles using the route each day by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

Work will be carried out using overnight closures, alongside daytime lane closures with signed diversions in operation.

The A75 will be closed in both directions between 8 pm and 6 am each night from October 15 until October 21, with daytime closures between October 16 and Saturday 21, and all traffic management will be removed by 6 am on October 22.

Westbound traffic will leave the M74 at Junction 22 and take the B7076 Glasgow Road south to the roundabout, taking the exit onto the B721 through Gretna, Rigg and Eastriggs before turning right onto the B6357 Stapleton Road to rejoin the A75 east of Annan.

Eastbound traffic will take the slip road onto the B6357 eastbound then turn left onto the B721 and follow to Gretna, then at the B7076 roundabout follow north or south to take the M74 or M6.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
