A new report by Medicsport has found that 65 per cent of adults in this region meet or exceed government guidelines for exercise, higher than the average for Scotland.
The government recommends that adults should do a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity a week to stay healthy.
Commenting, Dr Johnson D’souza, from Medicspot, said: “It’s important for our health that we all get at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, such as from riding a bike or brisk walking. It’s very encouraging to see Dumfries and Galloway residents rising to this challenge.”
