All invited as village cricket restarts

IN FULL compliance with the latest advice on the Return to Sport and Physical Activity Guidelines provided by Cricket Scotland, the Dalton cricket team are extending an open invitation to anyone interested in playing cricket to join them for informal practices on Wednesday evenings.

It is hoped that full matches will return in the near future, though the date is yet to be determined. People of all ages and abilities, from total beginners to experienced players, are very welcome to go along and experience the relaxed atmosphere and the delightful rural setting. The approach is all-inclusive, with school-aged children and female players often part of the mix.

The Dalton midweek team plays under the auspices of Kirkwood Cricket Club, which has a long history (as outlined on their website at www.kirkwood-lockerbie.co.uk/experiences/activities/cricket-2/).

The team has a particularly healthy track record of encouraging and developing youngsters and newcomers to the sport while at the same time providing a great deal of enjoyment to experienced players who simply love the game.

Those who play for other teams in the Saturday league are always very welcome, and indeed such players have always been at the core of the Dalton side.

n Anyone interested is invited to contact Kieran at [email protected] for further details and for week-by-week updates (as the practice sessions are subject to the prevailing weather.)
