All welcome to try bowls events

MARCHMOUNT Bowling Club is driving to promote lawn bowls and recruit new members. As such, the Dumfries club has organised two Try Bowls Days this weekend: on Sunday and Monday, 11 am to 3 pm. They also have sessions available each of the following four Wednesday evenings. Try Bowls has become an integral part of the club’s drive to recruit new members and promote the sport to the community, particularly, in this the year when the Commonwealth Games is set to return to Glasgow, with bowls included. Bowls is a sport for all ages and abilities. Individuals can get involved for the social side or competitively.

In addition to the open days, the club is hosting youth events on Friday afternoons from May 8 for under 18s. Coaches will be on site to help. The event is open to all. Bowls are available. Those in attendance should bring a pair of flat soled shoes or trainers on the day. Follow the club on Facebook for more information and updates.
