BOWLING enthusiast Andrew K. Murray has combined his sporting passion with an interest in photography.

GREEN SCENE . . . enthusiastic bowler Andrew K. Murray promoting his new calendar this week at St Mungo Bowling Club at Kettleholm

The current president of St Mungo Bowling Club at Kettleholm has visited all the bowling clubs in Annandale and Eskdale to produce a special calendar.

It includes colour pictures of the greens at Annan, Gretna, Beechgrove (Moffat), Lockerbie, Eastriggs and Dornock, Gretna, Canonbie, St. Mungo, Eaglesfield, Langholm (Old and New Town) and Lochmaben.

And, with only 11 clubs in the district, he took the total to 12 by including one of his personal favourite greens at New Abbey.

He is selling the calendar to raise funds for the St Mungo club and is hoping it will prove popular with his fellow bowlers across the area.

Andrew, who lives at Eaglesfield, said: “With the season coming to an end I thought the calendar would bring a little cheer during the winter months as well as the rest of next year. “It was a real pleasure going round all the clubs and taking the pictures.

“This brought home to me how lucky we are in this district to have so many excellent greens, all with their unique character.”

The calendar, called ‘Around the Greens with Andrew K. Murray,’ is on sale now for £7.99 at Eaglesfield and Lochmaben Post Offices with mail order details available by email from [email protected]
